Bald Barbie Comforts Kids with Cancer:
Mattel, the makers of Barbie, announced last month that a hairless “friend of Barbie“ will “be distributed exclusively to children’s hospitals and other hospitals treating children with cancer throughout the U.S. and Canada, directly reaching girls who are most affected by hair loss.” The decision came after a Facebook group called “Beautiful and Bald Barbie! Let’s see if we can get it made” scored thousands of “likes”within hours of its creation.
Why does she have to be “a friend of Barbie”? Why can’t Barbie be bald? :/
The issue isn’t only about her being “a friend of Barbie” but also that there will only be 10,000 dolls made for “special” selected children in hospitals to receive them. One of the many problems with the dolls not being available to the public is the “Beautiful and Bald Barbie! Let’s see if we can get it made” Facebook page was created because many people want this doll made and want to have a doll like this for numerous reasons. One of the main reasons is so children undergoing chemotherapy or with problems like alopecia and trichotillomania can have a doll that looks like them. The majority of the people that want this doll are not in the hospital. Also by Mattel creating such a small number of the dolls they are making it very hard for the children to even get to play with them. Thankfully MGA Entertainment stepped up to the plate and created bald female and male dolls long before Mattel announced that they were making their new “friend of Barbie”. MGA Entertainment will be selling “True Hope” Moxie Dollz and Bratz in Toys R Us stores this June.

Game of Thrones is using real animal fur for their TV Series. Fur is cruel and entirely unnecessary. Common methods of obtaining fur include, gassing, trapping, and anal electrocution.
Although Game of thrones is getting their fur from a company (House of De Clifford) that claims to not use endangered animals, this is no comfort for the innocent animals who suffer and die due to the cruel practices of the fur industry.
Ask the show creators, David Benioff and Daniel B. Weiss to insist that only faux fur be used because entertainment is no reason to support animal suffering.
“We were also approached by the Northern Irish television team HBO, and were glad to help by supplying them with ethically sourced furs used in during filming of the widely awaited production of “Game of Thrones” starring Sean Bean.”

Rise Against Rattlesnake Roundups! -
“It’s just a snake…….., it’s not like it’s a dog or horse or a bird.” Next thing you know, it’s some other stupid reason to hate an animal that has a rightful place on this planet.
Guys, these snakes NEED our help— and badly at that.
I’m astounded at the level of cruelty displayed at these roundups. These animals are first removed from their homes via gasoline in their dens, then they’re lumped into a single container with no access to food, water, or even a place to hide. They are being purchased for as much as $10 PER POUND for an event where they are partially frozen and have their mouths sewn shut.
This year, about 1,700 pounds of rattlesnakes were purchased for the event.
This is stated in a news article… and even one of the event coordinators admits to sewing the mouths shut:
“The hunt weekend offers a number of novel experiences, such as having a taste of deep-fried rattlesnake meat and the opportunity to have a picture taken with a live rattlesnake.
“They really drape it over your shoulders but they are defanged and their mouths are sewn shut,” England said.”
How no one is doing anything about this legally is beyond me. This is a prime example of animal cruelty and desperately needs to be stopped.
Please remember that during this month, upwards of 10,000 rattlesnakes will die in these roundups. My question for you, is are you going to sit there and just let it happen?
